Ear Up Lecture Series on the Music Industry

The rise of digital music has challenged the relatively closed system of the traditional music industry. Independent bands and musicians have more promotional and marketing channels to display their work. The Renaissance Foundation, under the sponsorship of Create Hong Kong of the HKSAR Government, has launched the Ear Up Music Record Label Creation and Incubation Programme. This programme aims to empower young Hong Kong music talents through education and mentorship, and to create a more sustainable and diverse music ecology and culture. A series of public lectures on practical and comprehensive knowledge about the music industry will be curated. Local and international music professionals are invited to share their experiences in publishing, distribution, operations, copyright, marketing, and management. HKU GE is one of the supporting units of this programme.
