Sustainable Design for Urban Farming
Farming is not only about growing food. For thousands of years, farmers have learned to use what is offered to them by nature to live a life in the most creative way. During this hands-on workshop, you will work in a project team to design and build sustainable infrastructure for the HKU Rooftop Farm. You will each have the opportunity to work on a project such as storage boxes made from upcycled wood, a rainwater harvesting system, or a self-mixing composting bin. By taking a project from concept, design and engineering to assembly and installation, you will not only build something useful but also develop new skills.
